It is ideal both for fans of the organised areas with sunbeds and bars and for those who prefer the free areas. A wide sandy strip, clean water and plenty of sea fun await you right next to us.<\/p>\n<h2>Other beaches<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Sozopol Central Beach \u2013 about 1.5 km from us on foot;<\/li>\n<li>Kavatsite and Smokinya beaches \u2013 about 3 km from us by car;<\/li>\n<li>Zlatna Ribka Beach \u2013 about 3.5 km from us by car;<\/li>\n<li>Adam and Eve Beach \u2013 a nudist beach 300 m away on foot, along Harmanite Beach;<\/li>\n<li>Bamboo Beach \u2013 about 750 m from us on foot.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>The marina<\/h2>\n<p>Located very close by, the marina is the ideal starting point for your sea adventures. From here you can easily rent a motor boat or a yacht for your own private escape to the open sea. The harbour is also the departure point for many picturesque boat trips that will take you to the beautiful islands of St. Ivan and St. Peter.<\/p>\n<h2>The heart of Sozopol: the Old Town<\/h2>\n<p>You can see over 180 Revival-era houses from the 18th\u201319th century, built of stone and wood.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The southern fortress wall and tower: a restored part of the town's fortifications with a panoramic promenade right above the rocks. In its foundations there is a museum with ancient artefacts. This is the best restored part of the town's fortifications.<\/li>\n<li>The Church of Sts. Cyril and Methodius: here the relics of St. John the Baptist, discovered on St. Ivan Island, are kept.<\/li>\n<li>Archaeological Museum: it keeps the history of the town from the 6th century BC to the present day. A perfect place for history lovers, where you will see the famous \"Sozopol vampire\", unique ancient vases, ancient amphorae and more.<\/li>\n<li>Tip for guests: the best walk is along the coastal promenade that circles the whole peninsula \u2013 ideal for sunset photos.<\/li>\n<li>The Church of the Holy Mother of God \u2013 a medieval church dug so deep into the ground that it is no taller than a person<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>The romance of the Old Town<\/h2>\n<p>A short walk away you will immerse yourself in the history of Old Sozopol. The cobbled streets, the authentic wooden houses and the view of the fishing boats will take you to another era. Here you will find cosy galleries, museums and unique panoramic restaurants above the rocks.<\/p>\n<h2>Adventure and nature<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>St. Ivan Island: the largest Bulgarian island in the Black Sea, where in 2010 the relics of St. John the Baptist were discovered<\/li>\n<li>Cape Agalina: this natural landmark is a few kilometres to the south, between Sozopol and Dyuni, and is a favourite of thrill seekers who enjoy jumping into the sea.<\/li>\n<li>Sand Lily Reserve: located in the area of Kavatsite Beach, here you can see the rare and beautiful flower growing directly in the sand.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>The magic around Sozopol<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The \"In Love with the Wind\" Castle (Ravadinovo): only 3\u20134 km from town. Fairy-tale architecture, beautiful gardens and a lake with swans. Huge gardens with exotic plants, lakes with white and black swans, a horse-riding base and a winery. The place looks straight out of a Disney fairy tale. There is a mini zoo and many play areas.<\/li>\n<li>Ropotamo River: a boat trip down the river through a dense riparian forest. You can see the \"Lion's Head\" rock formation.<\/li>\n<li>Beglik Tash (near Primorsko): about 20 km from Sozopol, deep in the forest above Primorsko. This is a Thracian megalithic sanctuary known as the \"Bulgarian Stonehenge\". It is believed to be an ancient calendar and observatory. There is a \"trial path\" \u2013 a narrow gap between the rocks which, according to legend, only people with pure hearts can pass through.<\/li>\n<li>Arkutino Reserve: about 10 km south of Sozopol and part of the Ropotamo Reserve, where you can see wild water lilies and Snake Island.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>The underwater petrified forest: a journey 12 million years back<\/h2>\n<p>Did you know that just a few minutes from the shore of Sozopol there is a phenomenon with no equal in the world? Between the islands of St. Ivan and St. Kirik, on the seabed, rests a petrified forest from the Miocene epoch.<\/p>\n<p>Uniqueness: this is the only place on the planet with such a large cluster of petrified trees under water. The forest covers an impressive 120,000 sq m.<\/p>\n<p>History: the trunks of extinct swamp cypresses and cedars (up to 3 metres in diameter) were \"sealed\" by marine sediments about 12 million years ago and have been preserved intact to this day.<\/p>\n<p>Experience: described by divers as \"apocalyptic\" and magical, the forest offers an unforgettable dive.<\/p>\n<p>For diving fans: the local diving centres offer organised dives to this mystical place. If you are looking for an experience you will remember for a lifetime, this is your destination!<\/p>\n<h2>Activities and experiences<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Apollonia Arts Festival: held at the end of August and the beginning of September \u2013 the town becomes a stage for concerts, theatre and exhibitions.<\/li>\n<li>Summer cinema under the stars in the Old Town<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Everything for the home and kitchen<\/h2>\n<p>Since our apartments are fully equipped for cooking, it will be useful for you to know that right next door you will find:<\/p>\n<p>Supermarkets: large chains such as Lidl and Billa, as well as local shops for fresh fruit and vegetables.<\/p>\n<p>Cosmetics and health: a Lilly Drogerie shop is very close by for all your cosmetics and personal hygiene needs.<\/p>\n<p>Services: if you are expecting a parcel or need a courier, the offices of Speedy, Econt and BoxNow are literally around the corner.<\/p>\n<h2>Restaurants and attractions 100 metres away<\/h2>\n<p>The area around us is lively and offers a rich choice.
